Overlooking the Zuidpark in Ghent, this seventh-floor apartment in a 1960s building was
fully stripped and reimagined into a serene and balanced home.
The design focuses on openness and connection, with internal windows that let light travel
freely and create gentle sightlines throughout the space. Certain areas were intentionally
kept calm and understated, leaving room for art and personal objects to find their place
over time.
Materials play a quiet but important role. Warm wood and soft neutral tones form a calm
base, while a few more expressive elements, like the red-toned kitchen floor and the Rouge
Belge worktop, bring depth and character. In the bathroom, handcrafted tiles and natural
stone create a more intimate atmosphere, where texture and colour feel closer and more
present.
